Treemendous

Treemendous

In 2007 the Mazda Foundation and Project Crimson joined forces with local school communities to create one of Project Crimson’s key initiatives – ‘Treemendous School Makeovers’.

Treemendous gives primary and intermediate schools the chance to transform their grounds through the planting of native flora.

The programme has been hugely popular since it's beginning with each year seeing around 150 entries nationwide.

The judging panel is continually heartened by the commitment schools around New Zealand are making to the environment and find it difficult task of selecting winners from the vast amount of applicants each year.

The 2010 winners are:

  • St Joseph's School (Waitara) - completed in March
  • Bucklands Beach Primary School (Auckland) - completed in April
  • Albany School (Albany) - completed in May
